Cori and Myra
Cori Derksen and Myra Harder of Blue Meadow Designs bring their love of contemporary, clean, sophisticated styling to every fabric collection they design for
RJR. In creating fabric collections, this popular designing duo gives traditional elements a modern twist to create a truly innovative look, aptly named the
"modern classics." Their collections are all about versatility with prints that can be mixed and matched to create countless possibilities, to inspire a new
and younger audience to bring quilting into their homes with hip stylish fabrics and quilt designs.
Shares Myra, "Whether it is in designing quilts or fabric, it is always about exploring the possibilities and seeing how many different options we can create. We design with a purpose in mind. We ask ourselves a lot of questions like, 'What can we create with the fabric? How will the collection fit together? What feeling do we want to convey?'" Cori Derksen and Myra Harder have been friends for 28 years. Their mutual passion for quilting led to the creation of Blue Meadow Designs, a joint venture pattern company. Residents of Winkler Manitoba, Canada, Cori and Myra's design career began in 1997 when they established the Moonshyne collection, a line of self-published quilt patterns sold in stores throughout Canada. They were the youngest authors with Martingale & Company when they released their first book, Down in the Valley, and have since published more. They teach quilting classes, present trunk shows and travel to many quilting guilds and shops. |
